The Perks Of Being A Wallflower (The movie)

Another post from Faren, but I have some interesting news. As you've realized, this is seriously the generation for books-to-movies, comics-to-movies, games-to-movies, etc. Well, here's another to add to the list.

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, published in February of 1999, is a story about a teenage boy that goes under the alias of "Charlie" who writes letters to a person who he hears fellow peers talking about. There are numerous song, book, and movie references. It's actually the book that made me take a listen to The Smiths. The book tackles very gripping themes such as introversion and sexuality, to name a few. It's one of those books one just can't forget.

So far, the names attached to the project (officially) are Logan Lerman and Emma Watson. Summit Entertainment is also set to distribute it, with Mr. Mudd to develop the title. Filming is slotted for May 2011. Right now, the film is set as in "under production" so all of this information is subject to change, so I shall keep you updated.
